Voices from the Savannah, Joropo and Harp
A captivating musical journey through the Colombian and Venezuelan plains with four musicians from Colombia. Diego will showcase the enchanting arpa llanera (a harp from the plains) and Camilo Menjura the cuatro/guitar. Along with them, Hector de Jesús Martínez, “Pajarito” and Isabel Zentner, who is from London of Colombian heritage, will present traditional song. The singing will be in Spanish and English and Isabel will be delighted to explain the words and meaning of the songs. Both singers will also perform the energetic, rhythmic and visually captivating Joropo dance. A celebration of cultural richness and musical prowess.

Sixto Corbalán on Paraguayan harp and Pedro Martínez on guitar, two of the most innovative performers of contemporary Paraguayan music, share their incomparable expertise and depth of knowledge with us in this evening of music from the South American continent. Together they create fresh and dynamic arrangements of traditional music starting with Polcas and Guaranias, and bring a new contemporary sound to their own compositions.
