4-Day Course

T19 - Rebecca Hill

PUNCHY ACCOMPANIMENT SKILLS

4 DAY COURSE Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues 09.00-10.30

TUTOR: Rebecca Hill

LEVEL: Intermediate/Advanced

TEACHING METHOD: E+M - Teaching by ear initially with written music given out during the session.

Accompanying fiddle, bagpipes or another harp, is great fun.  It allows freedom to experiment with expressive harmonies and rich basslines, as well as an opportunity to showcase a percussive and rhythmic drive well-suited to the harp.  In this course we will look at flowing chord sequences and the importance of responding to the shape of the melody alongside techniques and punchy rhythmic patterns that can be used for jigs and reels.
