4 DAY COURSE Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues 09.00-10.30
TUTOR: Tarab Trio

TEACHING METHOD: E+M: Teaching will initially be by ear with written music given out during the session.
Paintings and poems show that harps were in use in Arab and Ottoman music until the end of the 17th century. In this course we will bring them back as we learn some catchy tunes from the Middle East. From Anatolia to the shores of Aegean Sea, join us and take the chance to play your harp along with the sound of the Persian santur (hammered dulcimer) and the Kurdish saz (long-necked lute), a hundred strings interweaving and creating a magic soundscape.Paintings and poems show that harps were in use in Arab and Ottoman music until the end of the 17th century.
