C06 - TĀLA TARANG / KEVIN LE PENNEC

TĀLA TARANG
Tāla Tarang, meaning “rhythm waves”, is the musical union of Indian tabla and western harp, with Mendi Singh’s powerful tabla grooves and Eleanor Turner’s hypnotic harp playing weaving a rich tapestry of sounds. Eleanor and Mendi received worldwide acclaim in their own right before sparking a new and beautiful sonic adventure when they met in 2014 and formed Tāla Tarang. Taking inspiration from nature and faith, Eleanor and Mendi relish the opportunity to perform together around the world, telling their stories through their East-meets-West compositions and electrifying improvisations that will leave you breathless.
KEVIN LE PENNEC
Kevin Le Pennec from Brittany will present his own beautiful songs sung in French and compositions inspired by Breton repertoire, set to an intricate mesh of heady rhythms and pop and jazz colours. Winner of the Trophée Camac in 2019 and the World Harp Competition in 2024, his modern, dynamic harp-playing blends with his clear, powerful voice.
